I think both because God gave clear instructions to Saul, but Saul didn’t follow them AND wasn’t repentant about it, so God was only there for convenience. If someone treated me like that, I wouldn’t exactly help them out, especially when carrying out what I said I would do if they did this. Just some thoughts I had :)

when you said God doesn’t give new instruction if the old instruction isn’t being followed. is that mostly referring to unrepentant sins or examples of this?
