Hi Tara-Leigh, thank you for your explanation of biblical adoption. My understanding has been that since the Hebrews were God’s chosen people, they were the children of God, whereas when a way was made for gentiles to enter His kingdom or family, we became adopted sons and daughters. The latter is still true and necessary, but it now makes sense that Hebrew jews must also be born again, hence adopted children as well, otherwise they are just image bearers, separated from God. Good R&C.
