The rape commentary was interesting. Most have only been taught that David committed adultery. Although rape is plausible, we cannot say for sure. To imply or be so sure that is what occurred is wrong because of the lack of evidence. We do not know if Bathsheba was a faithful wife. We do not know that if in realizing the king desired her, made her desire him. We do not know what took place behind closed doors like we do with Tamar and Amnon. So it is an exegesis that may work for some.
