I love listening to the God shot. I am learning so many different perspectives, catching so many details that I would have missed. I also really appreciate the cultural and historical background information. My understanding is increasing so much!

When I read that the Lord appeared to Abraham. I was thinking it was the Lord in three persons. Father Son and Holy Spirit. That’s why (1) person was talking as Lord. The Lord refers to himself in 3rd person sometimes because the other ”personhoods” of the Holy Spirit and the Son are also God, but they make up (1) God that is Yahweh. Maybe each person of God was talking but just referred to as the Lord. I didn’t think that the angels were there and silent but sent later to desrroy the city.

Abram is but inspiring and a disappointment. He believes God and does many things because of that belief that show he is sincere. On the other hand he does some really disappointing things that seem (in review) really foolish. He is pretty much like all people in that regard. God, on the other hand, is amazingly forgiving and consistent.

Another great insight.Could one rightly say that the 3 strangers that visited Abraham at the oak of mamre is actually Trinity ? Because LORD was in caps and Abraham revered them a lot while pleading for Sodom & Gomorrah

And thank you for your study and insights throughout each and everyone of the podcast. I appreciate what you have contributed to my knowledge of the Bible, and also motivating me to read more of the Bible that I otherwise would have if not having been challenged but my cousin, who invited me to this podcast! I do have a contrasting opinion to what you have shared in regards to Genesis 16. You infer that you wish SaraI had not given Hagar to Abram to have a son. Although it pains me to say this, from God’s reaction to Hagar, it appears that it was part of his plan all along that Ishmael would be born and be blessed. It appears that God‘s plan for our world would not have been complete without the adversity that has gone on for centuries between Ishmael and Isaac. I cannot say why this plan is necessary - that is beyond me! But I do believe it was all part of His perfect plan. I just believe that perfect means something different to Him than what it means to us - in our American society today. Only God knows!
